Our Seminar specifically concerns using UltraSound in the care of Companion Animals, however, we thought you might like to see the picture above showing one of the latest huge UltraSound advancements. Researchers in the Galapagos have successfully completed ultrasounds on free-swimming whale sharks, allowing blood samples to be taken for the first time ever in the wild. The incredible results allowed them to see and identify reproductive organs which holds promise for finally unlocking the mystery of breeding in the world's largest sharks.

In contrast, UltraSound for land animals began in 1956 with a "somascope" ultrasonic unit used to measure the back fat thickness on beef cattle. Even as UltraSound progressed over the next 40 to 50 years it remained a tool that was quite expensive and hard to use. This left most veterinarians without valuable UltraSound information unless they dealt with the inconvenience and high cost of having to refer out their UltraSound needs to specialist.

Fortunately, now UltraSound machines have advanced in quality, become easy to learn how to use, and very cost justifiable. This allows a veterinarian to take advantage of the many benefits of having their own UltraSound machine in-house, and has greatly enhanced the quality of care even smaller clinics can offer. Additionally, an in-house UltraSound machine allows the creation of a new, valuable income stream for the clinic.

10 Important Things You Can Learn in this Seminar:

    1. which medications a heart patient needs, right now

    2. whether your IV fluid therapy is too much, not enough, or just right

    3. does your coughing patient have heart disease, respiratory disease, or both

    4. find out in 5 to 10 minutes why your emergency patient collasped

    5. learn quickly the cause of chronic bladder problems

    6. determine the cause of Dyspnea in a cat that is open mouth breathing
        without stressing or harming them

    7. detect whether a dog or cat has a GI foreign body

    8. screen the Geriatric or ADR patient for cancer in 10 minutes

    9. determine is an acute abdomen patient needs surgery, today

    10. UltraSound is the single best test for pancreatitis and heart worm disease in cats

The primary focus of this seminar is to present practical UltraSound knowledge attendees can put to use immediately in their clinics. It focuses on the effective recognition of sonographic abnormalities which can greatly enhance the patient's diagnosis and care.

Additionally, this seminar helps attendees discover many little known and often overlooked secrets to make sonograms much easier to obtain and read, and then determine how to put the images to the most effective use.

Whatever Your Current UltraSound Situation is in Your Clinic...

  • If you already have UltraSound and are using it in your clinic, this seminar with enable you to sharpen your skills and reading effectiveness.
